Developments of markets today show an increase of international stress of competition, increasing requirements of quality and sinking products life-times. Therefore companies have to shorten development and idea-to-market times. The usage of adequate CA tools is absolutely necessary. The price of a component is already defined during preliminary design. Hence the optimizsation of components should try to approximate the ideal design as good as possible. The grade of optimization has also to be taken into consideration, since complexity and profit should be balanced.
