Particles and particle separation

For separation one uses the density differences (liquids, suspensions) or the particle mass.

Mixtures can be:

  • Particles in a glass
  • Particles in a liquid
  • Various liquids

Particles can be:

  • Dust
  • Sand
  • Water droplets
  • Oil droplets
  • chips (wood, metal)
  • etc.

Distinctions

A distinction is made between mechanical processes in batch operation (centrifuge) or continuous processes (cyclone, cyclone separator, whirler),
in which the forces acting on the particles are effected by the flow through deflection or centrifugal force.

Separation by gravity occurs, for example, in settling tanks.

We can show you how efficient the separation is by simulation. Below you can see an example for the separation of water droplets.

The simulation of separation processes (water separator, oil separator, cyclone) are very costly and complex. We show you efficient ways to simulate and optimize the separation efficiency. We are familiar with all methods currently available for simulation and can use the method that is tailor-made for your application.
