Method development

In the case of complex assemblies (such as a complete vehicle), it is currently not yet possible to calculate with sufficient accuracy all the component parts that have an influence on the behavior of a part or assembly with regard to required properties.

calculation models often still has deficits, so that tests are currently required both for design at the component level and for validation at the overall assembly. For this reason, one focus of ongoing method developments is on providing methods for the consistent functional design of all components.

Product development goes through several phases before one can speak of a "realized" product.

  • development of a model for the coupled investigation of flow and radiation in the engine compartment for very large models
  • a method for the calculation of free weathering on the complete vehicle (solar radiation, temporal temperature inside the vehicle)
  • determination of structure-borne noise levels on reciprocating engines, taking elasticity and inertia forces into account
  • models for predicting hot cracking on exhaust systems and heat exchangers, etc.
